Baby

So I took Gen to the doctor yesterday after several days of thinking "maybe I am just overreacting." Her stomach has been distended for several days and I just had that mother's intuition that something was definitely wrong with her. On Sunday I finally told Eric "there is definitely something wrong with her. Her stomach shouldn't be that distended." So I called and made an appointment for yesterday. When I went in all my concerns were validated when the doctor said that she was really distended. He said that it is probably just gas. He said that there are two diseases that could cause these symptoms but since she was having bowel movements he did not think that either was the case. So we made a plan of action. He said that this probably wouldn't go away overnight and that we would have to watch to make sure it got better and not worse. He put her on some liquid Zantac because she has been spitting up/throwing up so much now. I also am supposed to give her gas drops after every feeding. I felt saddened but relieved that there was actually something wrong with her because I was driving myself crazy with second guessing myself. I didn't want to go to the doctor and have them tell me that everything looked absolutely normal and become a really paranoid mom. Hopefully this will help her get some relief. The doctor was upbeat that we have some time to cope with this before it got worse because she seems content and not in too much pain. I hate to see her struggle with this because she will cry when she has to pass gas. I am starting to feel a little more in control of the situation though so I am happy. I will let you know if anything else changes.
