Dahlia turned 1 on March 31st. Yes we had a celebration for her. Yes you may think that we are crazy. We had found out several weeks ago that she really liked balloons so we bought a package of balloons and blew them up for her to play/pop. Eric also bought her a big blue ball that matched the balloons for her to play with. Unfortunately the ball didn't last very long after all the balloons were popped. We may or may not have (emphasis on may have) baked her a cake. We made a funfetti cake and gave her a piece to eat. You may think that it is nuts for someone to go to this much trouble for a dog. Well we have always thought of Dahlia as our first baby. We always refer to her to Gen as her big sister. She takes good care of Gen and tries to give her her toys when she is crying. I think that they are going to be great friends when Gen gets older. It saddens me that dogs have such a short lifespan because I really hope that Dahlia is here when Gen gets to be sixteen. We call Dahlia our Prom police/patrol because without a doubt if Eric and I are cuddling or kissing she always gets in between us and makes a nuisance of herself. Wouldn't that be funny to send her out on Gen's first date? The boy would never get the chance to try anything with her. :) Happy Birthday my first little baby. I hope you are around for many more. (Neat fact Gen was actually due on Dahlia's birthday. Eric was hoping that Gen would be born on her due date so that they would share a birthday)

hahaha, I love it! Only problem is that you forgot to invite her best friend, Fiona, to the party. JK. You guys are so cute! Sean and I have been planning Fiona's 1st for awhile. Hers is beginning of May. Sigh, they grow so fast. :(
